Phoebe Benun, a junior at Santa Monica High in California, achieved back-to-back Bay League titles by covering the 3-mile layout at Redondo Union High in 17:34.97 to help the Vikings place fourth overall with 68 points. Benun prevailed last season in 17:09.1 at Polliwog Park in Manhattan Beach. She became the first female athlete in the league to secure consecutive championships since Rebecca Mehra of Palos Verdes triumphed in 2008 and 2009.
